Cobargo resident Scott Herring says his community is only now starting to rebuild their town from a completely “blank slate” after COVID-19 lockdowns delayed recovery.
“What these guys are doing in terms of clearing that heavy growth close to the house, just makes me feel a bit more secure about this new home we’ve built,” Mr Herring told Sky News Australia.
“If we have another fire, it could be even more devastating than before,” he said.
